Do you take the time to think through the Holy Spirit or do you simply follow the ever-changing demands from the ‘experts’, counting on them to keep you protected? Do you feel secure that the people with the power are going to find the cure to what ails this world? If they do are you convinced that they will gladly share it with you? Many people depend on their government to lead them through the hardest times. Free food and financial bonuses are praised by the down and out and those who want others’ needs met without personal sacrifice. However, the Bible never instructs us to look for rescue through human eyes. In fact, it says: “the whole world lies in the power of the Evil One.” (1 John 5:19)

Mark chapter 13 describes the things that will occur as the end draws ever closer. “People will fight each other, and nations will fight each other, there will be earthquakes in various places, there will be famines; this is but the beginning of the ‘birth’ pains!” My commentary adds: “The labor pains will be small and far apart at first, but they will become stronger and more continuous as they progress.”

Some women have been blessed to only spend an hour or so in labor to deliver their precious cargo. My sister and I went into labor just hours apart. When she called to tell me I told her to save me a bed. Our mom was convinced she’d have a heart attack from the anxiety of perching by the phone, especially as my labor lasted eighty-two hours. After my third trip to the hospital to be checked, they gave me the option to stay or go. When I said I would leave because I was hungry. The response to me was: “If you’re hungry you are not in true labor.” I left with my girlfriend to get some food and immediately afterward my water broke and I was back.

All the signs were there that my baby was on his way but the people in charge told me I had more time. The pain caused by the baby who wanted out, (but was unable to make the trip on his own) was so overpowering that I thought I would die, literally. It was so intense that it never crossed my mind that the doctor could give me a shot to stop it.

Do you see a world in the throes of labor pain or do you believe it is false labor? “What I say to you, I say to everyone: stay alert!” Be careful who you believe brothers and sisters. The Evil One doesn’t really want you but he sure doesn’t want Jesus to have you. There is a battle raging, will you be victor or victim?
