Proverbs 3:5-6
Have you ever found yourself in a situation way over your head? How did you get there and how did you get through it?
Several years ago my girlfriend was dying and not being properly cared for at home. I knew I had to take her into my home and care for her. I had no experience and no idea what was ahead. In those fearful moments I heard, “Do as I ask, and I will fill the toolbox. Whatever you need will be there when you reach for it.”
Thanksgiving was the next day and I was hosting. My girlfriend was on hourly medications so I asked a friend from church, who had volunteered to help me, to come long enough for me to do dinner. She showed up with a bag saying, “I have 4 days worth of clothes. You have a washer and dryer. I am not leaving until this is over,” and she did not. She stayed for over a week.
God knew I could not do it alone but that didn’t stop him from asking me. But as promised, He provided a way because of obedience. What is He asking of you today? Have courage and remember your toolbox.
