Resurrection Sunday is coming soon. Do you know the history of that event? It’s not just a Bible story, it’s humanity’s history. Jesus isn’t just a prophet or a good man who lived long ago; He’s the One who conquered death and hell. He was crucified on a cross but the story doesn’t end there. It is not a fictional story; it is His story.
Three days after His death the grave could no longer hold Him. “Suddenly there was a violent earthquake, for an angel of ADONAI came down from heaven, rolled away the stone and sat on it” (Mt 28:2) Jesus’ mother, Mary, and Mary Magdalene had gone to visit Jesus’ grave. “The angel said to the women, ‘Don’t be afraid. I know you are looking for Yeshua, who was executed on the stake. He is not here, because he has been raised–just as he has said!’” (Mt 28:5-6)
This is the Ressurection Day we celebrate, commonly known as Easter. There is no bunny in the story. It’s all about Jesus.
“All this happened so that just as sin ruled by means of death, so also grace might rule through causing people to be considered righteous, so that they might have eternal life, through Yeshua the Messiah, our Lord.” (Rom 5:21)
Do you believe in heaven and hell? They are very real places. Have you made a decision where you want to spend eternity? Are you aware that failure to make a decision for Christ will land you in hell? It doesn’t matter how good you are, you can still go to hell.
Before Jesus ascended into heaven he left a message for all of us; “Since I am going to prepare a place for you, I will return to take you with me; so that where I am, you may be also.” (John 14:3) “Toma said to him, ‘Lord, we don’t know where you’re going; so how can we know the way?’ Yeshua said to him, ‘I AM the Way–and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through me.’” (John 14:5-6)
If you are someone who thinks there are several paths to heaven, I tell you in love that you are wrong. Only one path leads to heaven and Jesus is that path. Was He a good man? Yes. Was He a prophet? Yes. Is He the only Son of God? Yes, yes, yes! Choose Jesus~ choose life. The choice is yours.
