“God sovereignly made me–the first, the basic–before he did anything else. I was brought into being a long time ago, well before Earth got its start.” (Proverb 8:22-23 MSG) Who am I? “I am Lady Wisdom, and I live next to Sanity; Knowledge and Discretion live just down the street.” (Proverb 8:12) Does that sound like the kind of neighborhood you would like to live in?

Proverbs 8 and 9 explain the importance of looking for and listening to Wisdom, Father’s first creation, What gets you up each day? For many people, it is their job; seeking to provide for themselves and those in their care. They go through their morning routine habitually, sometimes barely opening their eyes.

The Bible tells us that wisdom is worth more than great wealth, however, those who seek after her will not only find her–Wisdom–but also her friends; Wealth, Glory, Honor, and a Good Name. Those who learn to love her find abundant life. She will teach you the Fear-of God, described as hatred toward Evil. Do you recognize Evil when you encounter it? You will if you are walking with Lady Wisdom. As the final days draw nearer and nearer good and evil become stronger. Many people will be deceived because they are going through the motions with their eyes half-closed. Good will be called evil and evil will be called good.

Wisdom promises real life when she is found. Are you looking for her or for a good-time? I’ve known many people, including myself before I knew better, who work all week just to be able to party on the weekend, having no clue that I was walking into a death trap.

“Are you confused about life, don’t know what’s going on? Come with me, oh come, have dinner with me!” (Proverb 9:4) Do you wish you knew who to believe? “Blessed the man, blessed the woman, who listens to me, awake and ready for me each morning, alert and responsive as I start my day’s work. When you find me, you find life, real life to say nothing of God’s good pleasure.” (Psalm 8:33-34)
