This Is The Way

Do you feel the freedom of everlasting life, now? Death is just the name of a bridge that we all must cross.  But, “the Torah [Law] of the Spirit, which produces life in union with Messiah Yeshua, has set me free from the (law) of sin and death.” (Romans 8:2) We humans never had what it takes to be perfect in the eyes of God. He gives us directions but we still get lost. So, “God sent his Son as a human being with a nature like our own sinful one,” “in order to deal with sin, and in doing so he executed the punishment against sin in human nature.” (Romans 8:3)

We are directed to live our lives “according to what the Spirit wants. For those who identify with their old nature set their minds on things of the old nature, but those who identify with the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. Having one’s mind controlled by the old nature is death, but having one’s mind controlled by the Spirit is life and shalom [peace].” (Romans 8:4-6)

Do you live life on your own terms or do you allow the Spirit to direct your path? “Those who identify with their old nature cannot please God.” “Anyone who doesn’t have the Spirit of Messiah doesn’t belong to him.” (Romans 8:9) However, if the Messiah is in you the Spirit is giving life because God considers you righteous. “The One who raised Messiah Yeshua from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit living in you.” (Romans 8:11)

Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and let the truth sink in. Do you feel the freedom of everlasting life, now? Let your mind be led by the Spirit today–it brings life and shalom.
