Act Of War

Are you a lover or a fighter? Do you know that we are all called to be both? We are to love each other as God’s precious children, always. We are also called to fight the powers of darkness and evil, always. We fail miserably at the “always” part.

A contemporary Christian artist, Jamie Kimmett, tells the cold, hard truth. The title “Prize Worth Fighting For,” echoes: “Every day’s just another struggle. Every choice is an act of war.” It seems that most of us struggle just to get out of bed each day. Perhaps you didn’t sleep well or have enough hours of sleep. Maybe your body hurts, or the blanket is just too comfy to remove. You may suffer from anxiety or depression. Most of the time we manage to push on through and place our feet on the floor. That is usually the first act of war–a choice to get out of bed.

Multiple internet resources claim that the average person makes over 35,000 decisions a day with nearly 227 of them being food choices alone, according to Cornell University. Think about that for a moment–35,000 acts of war every day that you may not even be aware of. Like it or not you have been drafted into the battle of spiritual principalities–the war between the worlds. You were sent to foreign soil to fight on Father’s behalf.

How many of your daily decisions are directed by your Leader and how many do you think yourself wise enough to decide? Whose side will you take up today? “What I am saying to you is this: run your lives by the Spirit.” (Galatians 5:17) https://youtu.be/DGbQ90kYZrI
