Ambassadors

I recall watching a movie, although I don’t remember the name of it, where a professor said to his class: “If God is real let him punch me in the face,” or something similar to that. A student came down the stairs and approaching the professor, punched him square in the face. Perplexed, the professor asked him why he had done that. The student replied: “God’s busy, He sent me.”

Do you profess to be a Christian? If you do you must realize, “the Messiah’s love has hold of us, because we are convinced that one man died on behalf of all in order that those who live should not live any longer for themselves but for the one who on their behalf died and was raised.” (2 Corinthians 5:14-15) Because of His immense love He has made us a new creation. “And it is all from God, who through the Messiah has reconciled us to himself and has given us the work of that reconciliation.” (2 Corinthians 5:18) Did you catch the word “work” in there? We have a job to do. Father didn’t just accept our decision to believe and send us on our way to await our turn. He makes us His representatives and trusts us to take His message of reconciliation to others. “In effect, God is making his appeal through us.” (2 Corinthians 5:20)

It is not our works that save us but when we truly go all in for Father through Jesus, we are compelled by our love to do things that please Him. What pleases Him is seeing His will being accomplished by us and He has assigned us to be His ambassadors.

Do you struggle to find the words or the courage to talk about salvation? Think about how you have personally seen Father work in your life. He is. If you can’t see it you aren’t looking. If you feel Father asking you to talk to someone about Him ask Him to give you the words and the right attitude. Those requests please Him and He will not leave you on your own. It’s the greatest news ever! Share it.
