Don’t Forget The Inside

How often do you just drift through the day, going through the same motions that you have repeatedly performed? Maybe you dream your way through. Perhaps you are devising ways in your mind to solve the problems of the world, as you robotically perform your daily duties. You may stand in the mirror making yourself attractive to the world but still be ugly before Father. “Anything not based on trust is a sin.” (Romans 14:23) God wants you to take care of your body; it belongs to Him and He lives in it too. But He’s most concerned with what’s inside. Your mind, heart, and soul are all interconnected by what’s going on inside where no one but God has the eyes to see.

He wants us to be so tight with Him that before we move our physical bodies–which He fills with life–from our mouth to our feet, we look for his approval. Most of us will do that once in a while. Some of us inquire often. But, the Lover of your soul doesn’t want you to do anything without Him. He has made your soul His living room and has no intention of ever leaving. He won’t force you to seek His approval; He wants you to want it. Father makes it clear that we can easily cause His work to suffer from actions that could have been avoided if only we would have inquired.

“As I live, says ADONAI [the Lord], every knee will bend before me, and every tongue will publicly acknowledge God.” (Romans 14:11) “Therefore, let’s stop passing judgment on each other! Instead make this one judgment–not to put a stumbling block or snare in your brother’s way.” (Romans 14:13) And your brother’s way is likely different from yours, so keep the communication line between you and the Spirit open and available, both ways, always. If you don’t know how to start the conversation just say, “Jesus, lead me.”
