Have No Fear

Are you anxious about the future? Do you worry about having enough food or money? Perhaps you are concentrating on the wrong things. If you have not realized how different Father’s way is from our own, take a look at Matthew 6.

If you want a reward from Father in heaven, don’t seek recognition for the good things you do while in the flesh, unless you prefer instant gratification from the praise of people–perhaps an honorable mention on the news. Father wants it to be such a secret that you “don’t even let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.” (Matthew 6:3)

Are you busy storing up wealth for your future here on earth? That may lead you to be stingy showing that you have an evil eye; for a person with a good eye knows how to live generously. Father promises us that we are worth much more to Him than the birds He feeds in the fields or the flowers He clothes in splendor. It may be easier to relax and be generous when your bills are paid and your bank account has money in it but that is a false sense of security that may be taken away from you at any time.

“Can any of you by worrying add a single hour to his life?” (Matthew 6:27) No, you cannot. “‘So don’t be anxious, asking, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink.’ or ‘How will we be clothed?’ For it is the pagans who set their hearts on all these things. Your heavenly Father knows you need them all! But seek first his Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:31-33)

If you will turn your attention away from this world and unto Father you will learn the secret to living life without fear. “Don’t worry about tomorrow–tomorrow will worry about itself! Today has enough troubles already!” (Matthew 6:34) Get in the boat with Jesus and let him calm your storm.
