Just What You Need

Just What You Need~LPF

Do you have too much in your food pantry? Do you waste considerable time trying to make a meal plan from all of the choices in your storeroom?

Does it make you feel secure to know your food source is not in danger of running out soon? Perhaps the Lord allowed you to have so much so that you will be encouraged to give it away. Maybe it’s time to empty your cupboards by blessing others.

When the Lord provides more than enough for you, the best thing you can do is to let Him lead you to someone He wants to bless through your hand. It’s not good to relax and be content with what we are given if the false sense of security allows us to walk through a day without turning to God. “Provide just the food I need today; for if I have too much, I might deny you and say, ‘Who is ADONAI [the Lord]?’” (Proverbs 30:9) It’s in your best interest to live in a way that you must return every day to the presence of our good and faithful Father.

He could have equipped us from birth with everything we would need to get through this life. However, God, aware of the dangers of pride and self-righteousness, wants us to lean on Him, every day, for every need. He wants us to return to His well each morning, allowing Him to fill us and supply our daily needs. That is what makes it possible for us to share without worry of not having enough for ourselves.

“Father knows what you need before you ask him.” (Matthew 6:8) He has it all prepared each day but you are responsible for picking up your daily package by personal appearance. You must be present to be blessed. If you haven’t picked up your care package today, there’s no better time. Reach for the hand that feeds you.
