My nine-year-old grandson lives with us. We were talking recently when I told him that he would soon grow up and move away. He said that he wasn’t going to move away explaining: “I will stay here and take care of you.” I joked, “Well thank goodness! I’ve been wondering who will take care of me.” I struggle with spinal stenosis and tendonitis in my hip; it’s sometimes difficult for me to bend far. When he sees me struggling he will often come to my aid. A couple of days went by when he asked, “Gramma, am I here just to take care of you?” I answered, “You needed a safe place, a home with security and love, and I needed a helper. God already knew what we would need and he made a way for both of us.” His eyes lit up and a smile grew across his face as I was reminded: “We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called in accordance with his purpose.” (Romans 8:28 )
We enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles in our home. It is especially challenging and rewarding when you complete the puzzle without using the box to see the entire picture. Putting it together one piece at a time you gradually see what the picture is becoming. If we learn to look at our lives as a puzzle God is creating freehand perhaps we can also learn to enjoy how the pieces are fitting together.
If the Lord is the artist it has to be beautiful when it is finished. Our Father, being pure love, will not make anything ugly. Rejoice today, for your story is a beautiful puzzle in the making!
Yeah!!! God is part of our puzzle!!!
