What If?

Do you ever feel completely lost for direction? Are you constantly trying to stay five steps ahead of disaster? Are you the type to spend endless time imagining how a situation will play out–only to find your time wasted; either it went entirely different or it never happened at all? I used to rehearse over and over in my mind, possible scenarios but things never seemed to go as I had imagined.

When we spend our precious time looking into the future, we are missing the present. We are not living in the time we are being given. It leaves us vulnerable to anxiety, Satan’s very effective weapon of destruction. “So don’t be anxious, asking, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘How will we be clothed?’” (Matthew 6:31)“Your heavenly Father knows you need them all. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Don’t worry about tomorrow–tomorrow will worry about itself!” (Matthew 6:32-34)

If you are attacked by anxiety, hearing, “What if, why, how, when…?” take those thoughts captive  and cast anxiety out by seeking God, “for God does great deeds beyond investigation, wonders beyond all reckoning.” (Job 5:9) “Have no fear, little flock, for your Father has resolved to give you the Kingdom!” (Luke 12:32)
