Do you feel grounded in your everyday life or like things are spinning out of control? I used to say, “Stop the world and let me off, I’m dizzy.” That was before I met Jesus and found true love. “If someone loves me, he will keep my word; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.” (John 14:23)
Slowing down and truly taking the time to start learning what the Word was saying, somehow applied the brakes to my out-of-control world. It’s hard to explain, backward from the normal way, the more you feel the Spirit inside you the lighter you become on the inside. God has a way of stabilizing you by the presence of the Spirit. But the Spirit doesn’t force you to include Him in your life. He’ll still hang out with you, remaining steady while you ride your mental roller coaster. How long will you ride?
I love roller coasters, normally. But I can’t ride anymore. It beats me up too badly. My body just can’t take the slamming anymore. I chose to stop riding the coasters. In the same way, you can choose to get off the mental coaster. How? Leo Tolstoy, the author of War and Peace, has stated it well: “Believe me, transfer your center of gravity to the spiritual world, and all the aims of your life, all your desires will stem from it, and you will then find peace in life. Do God’s works, carry out the will of the Father, and you will then see the light and understand.”
Spend time sharing with the Spirit inside you. Give to Him your garbage and take from Him His Peace.
I live for Jesus! Hallelujah!
