Who has been allowed to train you in the ways you should or should not behave: your parents, teachers, friends or perhaps commercials? There is a local attorney’s commercial that disturbs me every time I hear it. It begins by announcing: “Here in (fill in your town) we see things a bit differently. If you’ve been wronged you need to make things MORE than right.” I wonder how that’s possible. If you receive more than what’s right someone must have been treated unfairly, but our greedy world trains us to be more concerned with what’s in it for us.
Jesus made things more than right for us and in the process was treated more unfairly than anyone else who will ever walk on this earth. Then, he instructed Paul to clarify how we messengers are to guide others. He talks to older men, younger men, older women, younger women, even slaves. No one got left out of the proper-direction-section. You can and should read Titus 2 for yourself to see what pertains to your current situation. However, the instructions for all people will start you in the right direction.
“Remind people to submit to the government and it’s officials, to obey them, to be ready to do any honorable kind of work, to slander no one, to avoid quarreling, to be friendly, and to behave gently towards everyone.” (Titus 3:1-2) How can a person get more than what’s right by following the Lord’s instructions? By letting Jesus determine your compensation package you will be greatly rewarded, above anything you could ever earn or deserve.
Here’s the good news and the bad: You get to choose sides and you have to choose sides. You can choose to follow God’s leading or be led by the enemy. If your heart wants the most you can possibly get, look beyond this world to your crown of glory and gold steps to your mansion, that no one can ever take from you. Choose everlasting life.
I choose everlasting life in Jesus!❣️
