The Kingdom

Do you wonder when the Kingdom of God will become your home? A Pharisee once asked Jesus that question. He answered, “The Kingdom of God does not come with visible signs; nor will people be able to say, ‘Look! Here it is!’ or, ‘Over there!’ Because, you see, the Kingdom of God is among you.’” (Luke 17:20-21) As Jesus stood among them they were completely surrounded by the Kingdom of God. But that was 2000 years ago, where does that leave us?
Is the Kingdom still here if Jesus returned to Father? Shortly after Jesus left, Father sent the Rauch HaKodesh, the Holy Spirit, into the hearts of believers present and future. Every believer receives the Spirit of God. That Spirit makes you a part of the Kingdom. So, as long as one believer continues to walk this earth, the Kingdom of God resides here. That does not mean that you are God, but that He lives within you and you are intended to live for Him. Jesus compares us to slaves, asking if the master would thank the slave for completing his duties. The answer was a solid “No!” I would fail at being a master; I thanks kids, the dog, the cat, and the chickens.

Jesus continues by telling us, “When you have done everything you were told to do, you should be saying, ‘We’re just ordinary slaves, we have only done our duty’.” (Luke 17:10) What as Christians is our biggest duty? To show Father’s love and be a part of bringing in the Kingdom. But when Jesus returns to rule over his people, He “will be like lightning that flashes and lights up the sky from one horizon to the other.” (Luke 17:24) He warns us that as the people ate, drank, bought, sold, planted, and married in the times of Noah and Lot, when the water and fire fell from the sky, the people who were not prepared were destroyed, quick, fast, and in a hurry.

If the Lord tells you to leave in haste do not look back! “Whoever aims to preserve his own life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will stay alive.” (Luke 17:33) How can you bring heaven to earth today?
